Information we collect
We collect only the information you give us and the basic technical details every website receives.

Passwords
Passwords are securely hashed by our login provider. We do not store or have access to your password.
Payments
Card details are entered into Stripe's secure payment form and are not stored on or sent to our servers. If you pay with Venmo, the payment happens in the Venmo app, and we see your Venmo name and username so we can match the payment to your order.
Technical information
Our hosting and database providers keep standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. Our site also uses your IP address briefly to limit abuse and block spam. We use this information only to run and protect the site.
How we use it
- Process, fulfill, ship, and support your orders
- Run your account and let you sign in
- Send transactional email such as receipts, shipping updates, pickup notices, and account messages
- Tell you when birds matching your waitlist interest are available
- Prevent fraud, keep the site secure, and keep the records we need for taxes and accounting
We don't send marketing email. Joining the waitlist is your request to hear about available birds; reply to any message or email us and we'll take you off it.
Cookies & browser storage
We don't set cookies of our own. The site uses your browser's local storage only for things it needs to work:

On the checkout page, Stripe sets its own cookies and may collect information about your device and browsing to detect fraud, including activity on other sites that use Stripe. See Stripe's privacy policy. No other third party collects information about your activity over time and across websites through our site.
Our fonts load from Google Fonts and part of our site code loads from jsDelivr. Those services receive your IP address when your browser requests the files.
Because we don't track visitors across websites, the site works the same whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.
How long we keep it
We keep account and order records while your account is open, and afterward for as long as we need them for tax, accounting, and dispute purposes. That includes records of refunds, cancellations, and payment confirmations. Waitlist entries are kept until you ask to be removed or we no longer need them.
Your choices
- Review or update your details. Sign in and open your profile to change your name, phone, address, or email. To change your farm name or website, email us.
- Delete your account or leave the waitlist. Email us and we'll take care of it. We may keep order records the law requires us to keep.
- Ask what we hold. Email us and, after confirming it's you, we'll tell you what information we have about you.
Security
We use encrypted (HTTPS) connections, access controls that limit who can see customer information, and private storage for sensitive documents. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
Children
This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
State notices
We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes (California Civil Code § 1798.83).
We do not sell covered information. You may send a request to opt out of sale to melana@baileysexoticsilkies.com.
Other websites
Our site links to other websites, including our social media pages and the separately operated Baileys Exotic Silkies DNA Lab site. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy doesn't cover them.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the effective date at the top. If we make a material change to how we use information we already have, we'll give notice before it takes effect, such as by email or a prominent notice on this site.
