Shipping costs: Shipping and shipping boxes with supplies are not included in price. Shipping costs vary based on order size, weight, and location.
Why some prices are higher: Some prices are increased due to egg death in incubation. For any chicks we DNA test we have to keep them longer and absorb the loss of any males that would have sold straight-run. If you take a chick home and it turns out to be male, finding it a new home is your responsibility. If we test the chicks for certified females, you only bond with females and we take responsibility for placing males.
Shipping liability: Shipping and buying live animals is always a risk. Once birds or eggs leave our hands at the post office, any losses are at the customer's expense. We don't offer guarantees because we have no control over how the shipment is handled once it's at the post office. We have done everything on our end — raising strong and healthy birds, being NPIP certified (closed farm, tested and certified "clean" every year), and properly packaging the birds to the best of our ability.
